“They built a Land Rover expecting to see a gas station every 300 miles. In hindsight they needed to build a Prius to make sure they could go as far as they could because there is no assurance there will be a gas station.” – Peter Sisson
What does it take to become a successful serial entrepreneur? Andrew Warner of Mixergy, himself a very successful entrepreneur, recently interviewed Toktumi / Line2 founder Peter Sisson and asked him just that question. In the interview Peter discusses the heady days of raising $46 million dollars to start WineShopper.com during the height of the first Internet bubble and the lessons learned from those times. He also delves into how to bounce back from a failed entrepreneurial venture and move on to success.
After WineShopper.com Peter went on found Mixonic and as CEO of Telio helped build that company and eventually sell it to Microsoft for $25 million. Of course Peter is now founder and CEO of Toktumi the company behind Line2. You can watch the complete interview below.
The Peter Sisson interview is a part of Andrew Warner’s ongoing series of explorations into what makes a successful entrepreneur. Check out the Mixergy archive of interviews including such luminaries as Gary Vaynerchuk, Guy Kawasaki, Rand Fishkin, and Seth Godin among many others.
