Ed. note: This belongs to a series of posts on how numerous websites, products and services are integrating LinkedIn functionality through our API. This post is from John Yamasaki, Director of Community and Partnerships at Seesmic, where he talks about the recent LinkedIn integration with Seesmic Desktop 2.

With its armored doors and bulletproof windows, the burly Humvee has been a stalwart ground transport for the U.S. military.
But now the Pentagon thinks the hulking vehicle should also be able to fly.
On Tuesday, Pratt & Whitney’s Rocketdyne division in Canoga Park announced that it had been awarded $1 million to design a propulsion system for a flying Humvee.
Don’t scoff — there is good reason for an airborne truck, defense officials say.
With the proliferation of improvised explosive devices, or IEDs, on the ground, a hovering Humvee would be an ideal way to keep soldiers out of harm’s way, Pentagon officials said in announcing the award.

Every month, our company celebrates “InDay”, a day when LinkedIn employees from around the world are encouraged to spend their time focused on research, learning and developing concepts outside of their normal routine. For employees who like to learn through execution, we throw a Hackday contest on every InDay.
This concept began with an impromptu hackday held over the 2007 holiday break and has now grown to a company-wide event (including an American Idol style panel of judges). Teams are given just five minutes to demo their hack in front of the entire company, and judges get just two minutes to ask questions.
I’m pleased to announce that, as of today, we’ll be making some of these internal projects publicly available on a new site, LinkedIn Labs. Whether

Some mortgage bankers and portfolio lenders are also wholesale lenders that deal with mortgage brokers, sometimes exclusively.
Most mortgage lenders have both wholesale and retail departments. Mortgage brokers prefer to obtain wholesale rates and then mark up these rates by adding points, presenting the borrowers with quotes that are similar to what borrowers could obtain directly from a retail lender. Mortgage brokers are free to set whatever prices they want, and have different methods for marking up wholesale rates.
Wholesale mortgage lenders generate residential mortgages through a network that includes independent brokers and lenders, offering a wide variety of home financing options: conventional, home equity, government, alternative and jumbo loans.
